It doesn’t even include books like Warbreaker. To be clear, this seems to only include the main books in the Cosmere. (Whew!) That will mark roughly the halfway point of the cosmere. After that, it will be time (already) for Stormlight 5, final book of this sequence of Stormlight novels. Skyward 4 (the final book of that series) will follow starting about a year from now. “ Wax and Wayne 4 will follow, with my goal being to start it January 1st. “After is done, I owe Skyward 3 to my very patient YA publisher, who has been sitting in the wings waiting for eighteen months or so for me to start it,” Sanderson wrote. In doing so, he confirmed that we are approaching the halfway point of the Cosmere.

Well, Brandon Sanderson took to Reddit on Tuesday this week to give an update on his writing schedule. It’s hard to gauge just how deep into the Cosmere we really are.
So, that’s all well and good, but that’s a lot of titles being thrown around. If I manage to get that all done before I die, then there’s a decent change I will write other Cosmere books…probably during this timeframe. “We will have the flashbacks to Dragonsteel after Stormlight 10 but before Era four of Mistborn. “Era four of Mistborn will be the last chronologically,” Sanderson continued.

“So the way that the structure works right now : Elantris, Mistborn Era One, Stormlight Archive first five, Mistborn Era Two, Elantris 2 and 3, Stormlight Archive 6-10, then the final Mistborn Era. “The last chronological book of the Cosmere Sequence is the final Mistborn book,” Sanderson said in a signing last month. More recently, we’ve reported on the novels Sanderson hopes to finish in completing the Cosmere. Book series that take place within this universe are Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive among others.
For those who don’t know, the Cosmere is the fantastical universe he’s created for his stories. Many readers may have only just recently gotten introduced to Brandon Sanderson and his work, but the man already has the end in sight. This may slightly depress some readers, but we are nearing the halfway point. While not a full game, you can technically get a taste of Mistborn in the form of a game by way of Fortnite, which recently sold a skin based on Kelsier. Perhaps this development will go so well that Sanderson decides to greenlight a Mistborn game of some kind. – JC) However, as the author notes that this game won’t be based on one of his own series, those holding out for a Mistborn RPG will have to continue their wait. He wrote a novella e-book in 2011 for Epic Games Infinity Blade series called “Infinity Blade: Awakening.” (Editor's note: he has also worked on some fiction for Magic: The Gathering. Sanderson entering the video game scene would be quite a treat for fans of the author, whose only other experience in games is minimal. He also said that people will recognize the company developing the game but playfully suggests it's “probably not the one you’re thinking of right now,” nor is it “that other one either.”Īnd that’s all Sanderson had to say about this game. Sanderson’s post includes a note that says the game is not based on one of his properties and is instead something new he built with the team he’s working with on this project. “I’ve been working on a video game for several years, and I suspect it will be announced this year,” Sanderson writes.

This news comes by way of a recent blog post he made titled “State of the Sanderson 2021,” which, like previous “State of” posts made by the author, details what he has going on in his career.
